4.8 Removing and installing airbag control
unit -J234-
WARNING
When working on airbag control unit -J234- , observe the gen‐
eral safety regulations for work on airbag, belt tensioner and
battery isolator units (pyrotechnic components) ⇒ page 90 .
4.8.1 Removing
– Disconnect vehicle battery ⇒ Rep. Gr. 27 .
– Remove left and right footwell trim from centre console, (other
parts of centre console need not be removed):
♦ Base version ⇒ page 6
♦ Highline version ⇒ page 15
Note
For greater clarity, centre console is not shown in figure.
– Operate release lever of connector -1- and separate wiring
harness from control unit -2-.
– Remove the three nuts -3- (9 Nm).
– Remove control unit from vehicle.
