2.1.1 Required special tools, workshop equip‐
ment, test and measuring devices and

2.2 Removing and installing basic version
centre console (Golf 2004 ▸)
2.2.1 Removing
– Switch off ignition.
Vehicles with automatic gearbox
– Release selector lever boot from cover ⇒ Rep. Gr. 37 .
Vehicles with manual or direct shift gearbox
– Release selector lever boot from cover ⇒ Rep. Gr. 34 .
All vehicles
– Remove handbrake lever trim ⇒ Rep. Gr. 46 .
– Remove the two trim lining mats -1- from the extension -3-.
– Remove the three bolts -2- (1.5 Nm).
– Release extension from mountings.
– Pull extension forwards through opening for handbrake lever.
