bag, belt tensioner and battery isolator units (pyrotechnic com‐

– Switch ignition on.
– Disconnect vehicle battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. Gr. 27 ;
Disconnecting and reconnecting battery .
– Remove knee airbag (Golf 2009 ▸) ⇒ page 128
– Remove dash panel end trim on driver side ⇒ page 60 .
– Press light switch forwards, turn it to the right (until it is verti‐
cal), then pull it out and disconnect wiring harness.
– Release steering column gap cover from dash panel
⇒ page 61 . There is no need to remove the complete steering
column trim.
