Eliminate safety risks!
Disconnect the CARDIOHELP from the external power supply and remove the batteries before carrying
out maintenance.
WARNING!
Avoid safety risks.
To avoid safety risks, an inspection must be carried out after every service or repair and after opening the
device.
WARNING!
Electrical components are live!
While the CARDIOHELP is connected to the internal or external power supply, the electrical components
are live.
During troubleshooting or when making settings on the open device, the service technician must take
particular care.
WARNING!
Make sure that there are no loose parts, e.g. screws, in the device to avoid safety risks.
WARNING!
Carry out final tasks.
To finish the task, the following steps must be carried out in order to ensure error-free use.
n Updating the software
n Validating the software (⇨ "Validate the Software", page 80).
n Carrying out the inspection (⇨ "Inspection", page 33).
CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharge can cause damage to electronic components.
To prevent damage to ESD-sensitive components, an ESD-protected environment must be set up.
To prevent damage and malfunctions, defined handling instructions must be observed when handling
ESD-sensitive components.
The ESD-protection equipment must always be used appropriately.

Eliminate safety risks
Secure all screws with Loctite 270, unless stated otherwise.
CAUTION!
Consider the abstract of screw torque (⇨ "Abstract of Screw Torque", page 13).
CAUTION!
Make sure that the new spare parts are without damage and functional.
CAUTION!
Replace the sensor panel sealing each time the device is opened.
