6.17.1 Assemble Rotary Encoder
1 Attach Hylomar on the rotary encoder.

2 Position the rotary encoder.

NOTE
Make sure that the connector is placed at the enclosure and encoder PCB is parallel to the enclosure.
3 Fix the rotary encoder with spring washer and the hex nut and pull
it with a torque of maximum 1.8 Nm.

▶ Use a torque wrench.
4 Seal the gap between the touch panel and the enclosure with
silicone (Elastosil E41).

5 Connect ribbon cable to the rotary encoder connector.
6 Assemble HMI PCB (⇨ "Assemble the HMI PCB", page 121).
7 Assemble the backlight inverter (⇨ "Assemble the Backlight Inverter", page 119).
8 Assemble the battery housing (⇨ "Assemble Battery Housing", page 117).
9 Close the device (⇨ "Closing the Device", page 110).
10 Assemble rotary knob (⇨ "Assemble the Rotary Knob", page 102).
11 Carry out a complete inspection (⇨ "Inspection", page 33).
u Rotary encoder replaced.
u Inspection after repair has been carried out.
