SECTION 11—BATTERIES

M91™and M94
NOTE:BoththefrontandrearwiringharnessesareshippedwiththePOSITIVE(+)REDbattery
cableandmountingscrewconnected.Usetheexposed,threadedportionofthemountingscr ewto
securethePOSITIVE(+)REDcabletothePOSITIVE(+)terminal.
WARNING
DO NOT remove fuse or mounting hardware from POSITIVE (+) RED battery
cable/mounting screw.
All battery terminal covers (two [2] on the front battery and two [2] on the rear
battery) MUST be installed prior to use.
Connecting
1. PeelbackREDbatteryterminalcovertoexposeREDbatterycableconnectionto
batteryterminal.
2. PeelbackBLACKbatteryterminalcoverfromBLACKbatterycableonfrontbattery
orGREYbatteryterminalcoverfromBLACKbatterycableonrearbattery.
3. Usingthemountingscrewandnut,securetheNEGATIVE()BLACKbatterycableto
NEGATIVE()batteryterminal/postasshowninFIGURE 11.3onpage108.
4. Usingthemountingscrewwasherandnut,securethePOSITIVE(+)REDbatterycable
toPOSITIVE(+)batteryterminal/post.
5. Verifywiringharnessiscorrectlyinstalledandsecurelytightened.
6. Verifyproperbatteryorientation.
7. Repositionbatteryterminalcoversoverbatterypost(s).
8. Usingnewtiewraps,securetheterminalcoverstothebatteryterminals.
9. RepeatSTEPS18toinstallandconnecttherearbatterytotherearbatteryharness.
Disconnecting
1. Removetheexistingtiewrapsthatsecurethebatteryterminalcoverstothebattery
terminals.
2. PeelbackREDbatteryterminalcovertoexposePOSITIVE(+)batterycableconnection
tobatteryterminal.
3. PeelbackBLACKbatteryterminalcoverfromNEGATIVE()BLACKbatterycableon
frontbatteryorGREYbatteryterminalcoverfromNEGATIVE()batterycableonrear
battery.
4. Removethemountingscrew,washerandnutthatsecurethePOSITIVE(+)RED
batterycabletothePOSITIVE(+)batteryterminal/post.
5. RemovethemountingscrewandnutthatsecuretheNEGATIVE()BLACKbattery
cabletotheNEGATIVE()batteryterminal/post.
6. Setwiringharnessaside.
7. RepeatSTEPS16todisconnecttherearbatteryfromtherearbatteryharness.
