Safety Inspection Checklists
Theseadjustmentsshouldbemadewheneverthisproductisserviced,especiallyaspart
oftheinitialunitsetup.Followtheseprocedures:

CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks
and wear, and should be replaced.
❑ Ensurewheelchairrollsstraight(noexcessivedragorpulltooneside).
❑ Ensureallfastenersonclothingguardsaresecure.
❑ Ensurearmsaresecurebuteasytoreleaseandadjustmentleversengageproperly.
❑ Ensureadjustableheightarmsoperateandlocksecurely.
❑ Ensurearmrestpadsitsflushagainstarmtube.
❑ Ensureseatand/orbackupholsteryhavenorips.
❑ Inspectseatpositioningstrapforanysignsofwear.Ensurebucklelatches.Verify
hardwarethatattachesstraptoframeissecureandundamaged.Replaceifnecessary.
❑ Ensureaxlenutandwheelmountingnutsaresecureondrivewheels.
❑ Inspectwheel/forkassemblyhaspropertensionwhencasterisspun.Castershould
cometoagradualstop.
❑ Loosen/tightencasterlocknutifwheelwobblesnoticeablyorbindstoastop.
❑ Ensureallcaster/wheel/fork/headtubefastenersaresecure.
❑ Inspecttiresforflatspotsandwear.
❑ Checkpneumatictiresforproperinflation.
❑ Cleanupholsteryandarmrests.
❑ Inspectmotorbrushesandgearboxcoupling.
❑ Checkthatalllabelsarepresentandlegible.Replaceifnecessary.
❑ Inspectelectricalcomponentsforsignsofcorrosion.Replaceifcorrodedordamaged.
❑ Ensurecastersarefreeofdebris.
