PRIMER SOLENOID
Removal
Disconnect the primer solenoid purple/white lead
connector.

Carefully remove the two hoses. Remove the two
bracket screws and the ground lead positioned
on
the rear bracket screw. Remove primer solenoid.
Disassembly
To
inspect or replace internal components,
remove the four solenoid cover screws.

Assembly
When assembling solenoid, back out screws
in
their holes to engage original threads and tighten
securely.

Installation
Install solenoid and bracket with screws. Position
ground lead under rear bracket screw.
Attach purple/white leads, black leads, and all
hoses. Secure large hose with tie strap.
Connect fuel tank hose to outboard and squeeze
primer bulb until definite pressure is felt
in
the
bulb. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as needed.

After servicing the fuel system, check
for
leaks. Failure
to
check
for
fuel leakage
could allow a leak
to
go
undetected,
resulting in fire
or
explosion.
