5-34 Adjustments
Card Registration Offset
This setting determines the card’s position when the heated roller is lowered.
This offset is relative to the
MFG Card Registration Baseline setting.
• If the MFG Card Registration Baseline is properly adjusted, setting the Card
Registration Offset to zero should position the leading edge of the card
directly under the nip of the rollers.
• Different offset values will be loaded for each laminate supply type.
Range
-350 to 4000 (mils)
Increase Value
Moves the card further into the rollers.
Decrease Value
Moves the card away from the rollers.
Burning or delamination of the leading edge of the card
stock.
• Increase the registration offset. The heated roller is
coming down before the card reaches the nip of the
rollers.
Topcoat applied too far from leading edge of card.
• Decrease the card registration offset. The card is too far
into the rollers.
Patch applied too far from leading edge of card.*
• Decrease the card registration offset. The card is too far
into the rollers.
Symptom/Solution
Patch material overhanging the leading edge of the
card.
*
• Increase the card registration offset. The heated roller
moved down before the card reached the rollers.
* Note that this can also be caused by an improper Foil Advance Offset.
Debow Enable
The Debow Enable setting enables or disables the debowing process.
• For the upper laminator, the card still passes under the debow roller, but the
dwell time is set to zero.
• For the lower laminator, the duplex does not rotate into the debow position,
so the card is not debowed at all.
