3.13 Spark arrester (optional part)
The engine and exhaust system become hot for a while after stopping.
A hot engine and exhaust system can burn you and can ignite some materials.
Avoid touching a hot engine or exhaust system. Allow the engine to cool before
servicing the spark arrester.
1. Remove the two nuts, remove the muffler protector and muffler.
2. Remove the spark arrester from the muffler.
3. Use a wire brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester screen.
4. Reinstall the spark arrester and muffler in the reverse order of removal.
