4.2 Blade brake clutch
(HRD535/K1 except Q type ~ 8106639 - HRD536/K1 ~ 8107479)
a. Disassembly / Reassembly
CAUTION:

Do not turn the mower upside down.
1. Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug cap.
2. Move the throttle lever to “STOP” position and turn the fuel shut-off valve (HRD536/K1
- HRD535K1), drain the carburetor.
3. Tilt the mower so the carburetor side up.
NOTE:
Before carrying out any operation on the Rotostop, release the Rotostop cable by
loosening the lock nuts of the handle and removing the Rotostop return spring.
[1] WOODRUFF KEY
REASSEMBLY: Insert the key into the crankshaft key way.
[2] ROTOSTOP CABLE
ADJUSTMENT: ch. 3.6
DISASSEMBLY: Remove the cable stay.
REASSEMBLY: Connect the Rotostop cable before tightening the stop screw.
[3] BBC BOTTOM PLATE
INSPECTION: ch. 4.2b
[4] STOP SCREW
TIGHTNING TORQUE: 22 N.m
[5] BLADE HOLDER SCREW
DISASSEMBLY / REASSEMBLY: Loosen or tighten the blade holder screw with
holding the Rotostop lever.
TIGHTNING TORQUE: 55 N.m
[6] BLADE
INSPECTION: ch. 3.12
SHARPENING: ch. 4.6
[7] BLADE SCREW (2)
DISASSEMBLY / REASSEMBLY: Using a wood block to prevent from turning.
TIGHTNING TORQUE: 55 N.m
[8] LOCK WASHER (2)
REASSEMBLY: Install the lock washer with “OUT” mark facing out.
[9] SCREW,6x14mm
[10] COLLAR
[11] RETURN SPRING
REASSEMBLY: Hook the one end to the BBC plate and the other end on the collar
using the screw driver as shown.
INSPECTION: ch. 4.2b
