CHECKING AND ADJUSTING

Adjusting Governor and Maximum No-load Speed
1. loosen the governor lever mounting screw.
2. Pushing the throttle valve to the fully open
position with the governor lever (1), turn the
governor lever shaft (2) fully clockwise with a
screwdriver and tighten the governor lever
mounting screw in that position.
3. Attach a tachometer to the engine, and start the
engine.
4. Turn the high speed adjusting screw (3) with the
screw tip touching the speed control lever (4) to
obtain the maximum no-load speed.

Adjusting Choke Rod
1. Set the throttle lever to the high speed position.
2. loosen the choke rod retaining screw (1).
3. Set the choke valve to the fully open position.
4. Move the choke rod retai ni ng screw (1) to the
position as shown in the figure, and then tighten
the retaining screw in that position.
