Starter Test
1. Connect a jumper lead from the connecting lead
to the battery's positive terminal (1).
2. Connect a jumper lead from the starter body to
the battery's ground terminal (2).
3. Check that the starter rotates and the pinion
doesn't slip
4. If not, repair or replace the starter.

Starter
1. Remove the drclip (1), washers (2), stopper pinion
(3) and return spring (4).
2. Remove the pinion assembly (5).
3. Unscrew two screws (11) and separate the front
bracket (6), armature (8), stator (9) and rear
bracket (10).
(When reassembling)
• Replace
the circlip to new one .
•
Apply grease to the helical portion of armature.

Brush Wear
1. Measure the brush length with vernier calipers.
2. If the length is less than the allowable limit,
replace the brush with the front bracket.
