3-10SectionDisplay and Setting of Calendar Clock
355
Reference: The numeral memory table entries 247 to 255, reserved for the clock function,
cannot be allocated words in the host.
3-10-1 Setting the Date and Time (NT31/NT31C and NT631/NT631C)
The clock data can be set by the following methods for the NT31/NT31C or
NT631/NT631C. (With the NT21, the clock data is read from the host and cannot
be set at the PT.)
• Setting from the System Menu
• Changing the value in numeral memory table entries 254 and 255
The following explains the procedure for writing the required clock data to the
numeral memory table entries. For the procedure for setting the clock data using
the System Menu, refer to Displaying/Setting the Calendar and Clock in section
6 in the Setup Manual.
Reference: The clock has an accuracy of maximum monthly error of –39 to +65 seconds at a
room temperature (25C). Adjust the error periodically to operate the clock accu-
rately.
Changing the Value in Numeral Memory Table Entries 254 and 255
Numeral memory table entries 254 and 255 are specially used for setting the
clock data.
These memory table entries cannot be allocated words in the host. Therefore, to
change the contents in these memory table entries, write the data to be set in
them into another numeral memory table entry first then copy the written value to
numeral memory table entries 254 and 255 using the memory table copy func-
tion.

To copy a memory table entry, either use the PT status control area or the touch
switch copy setting function. Here, the procedure for copying a memory table
entry using the PT status control area is described. For the procedure for using
the touch switch copy setting function, refer to Changing Numeric Values/Char-
acter Strings by Pressing a Touch Switch That Has the Copy Setting Function
(page 325).
Reference:  The PT does not check the set date and time data strictly. Therefore the data
must be set correctly so that there is no discrepancy between the date and the
day of a week.
 The procedure used to copy between memory table entries is different when
NT30/620 compatible mode is being used. Refer to Appendix C for details on
the NT20S and NT30/620 compatible modes.
