Register a touch switch with settings like those indicated below in the screen.
• PC address of lamp bit: Bit address of the bit in the PC that indicates op-
erating status of the equipment. (OFF during set
up or initialization and ON when ready.)
• Guide character display:Check mark set, ON/OFF switching character
strings, guide characters Please wait when lamp
is not lit, guide characters Ready when lamp is lit
• Interlock: Check mark set
• PC address of interlock bit:
Bit address of the bit in the PC that indicates op-
erating status of the equipment. (OFF during set
up or initialization and ON when ready.)
With the settings above, the touch switch display will change according to the
operating status of the equipment and the touch switch’s operation will be en-
abled/disabled as well.
Suggestions
• The interlock function allows individual inputs (numeral or character string in-
put), recipe data editing, and touch switches to be enabled/disabled from the
PC. (See Disabling Touch Switches with Interlock Bits on page 368 for details.)
• Bits in the PT status control area can be turned OFF/ON to control the following
PT operations as groups.
• Enable/disable the opening of windows (bit 6)
• Enable/disable numeral and character string inputs (bit 5)
• Enable/disable screen switching (bit 4)
Scaling the Contents of a PC Word and Displaying the Result
The contents (X) of a PC word are scaled with the equation Y=2X+3 and the re-
sults are displayed in a trend graph.
The calculation Y=2X+3 is executed
continuously in the PT and the results
are displayed in the trend graph.

1, 2, 3... 1. Use the Support Tool to set the following formula in a mathematical table.
• Formula format: (x ! x) ! x
• Result storage destination: Numeral memory table entry 0
• Operands (from left): constant 2, D00000, constant 3
• Calculation operators (from left): * and +
2. Register a trend graph in the window that displays numeral memory table
entry 0.
Suggestions
• Multiple mathematical formulas can be set in the mathematical table to contin-
uously execute multiple calculations. (Refer to 2-18 Mathematical Function on
page 278 for details.)
• It is possible to notify the host of the calculation results by specifying a host
word or a numeral memory table entry that is allocated a host word for the re-
sult storage destination.
