Specifying the Extended Security Functions
In addition to providing basic security through user authentication and each administrator's specified
limits to access the printer, security can also be increased by encrypting transmitted data and data in the
Address Book.
"Extended Security" can be specified also via Web Image Monitor. For details, see Web Image Monitor
Help.
Press the [Menu] key, and then select setting items using the [ ] or [ ] key.
1. Log in from the control panel as an administrator with privileges.
2. Select [Security Options] Press [OK]
3. Select [Extended Security] Press [OK]
4. Select the setting you want to change. Press [OK]
5. Change the settings. Press [OK]
6. Press [Menu] twice.
7. Log out.

[System Settings] [Administrator Tools] [Extended Security]
3. Select the setting item you want to change.
Press the setting item you want to change [OK]
4. Change the settings.
Change the setting [OK] [Exit]
5. Log out.
• The operation privileges of an administrator differ depending on the setting.
Driver Encryption Key
This can be specified by the network administrator.
Specify the string of text for decrypting the login passwords or file passwords sent from the driver
when user authentication is ON.
