Configuration Checklist - InfoPrint Manager for
Windows
Use this chapter to configure InfoPrint Manager to print using your printer.
1. If you have not already done so, install InfoPrint Manager.
2. Decide which type of destination you want to define in InfoPrint Manager for this printer.
See page 12 "Choosing an InfoPrint Manager Destination Type".
3. Define the printer to InfoPrint Manager. See page 12 "Adding a PSF TCP/IP Printer".
4. Verify the configuration by submitting a print job.
Choosing an InfoPrint Manager Destination Type
InfoPrint Manager provides various Destination Support Systems (DSSs). The type that is most
appropriate for your environment is based on what data stream you want to print (IPDS, PCL, or
PostScript). Use the following table to determine what type to use.
Data Stream From Application Data Stream To Printer InfoPrint Manager Destination
IPDS, PCL, PS, ASCII, line data,
DBCS ASCII, PDF, AFP

Adding a PSF TCP/IP Printer
Create a PSF TCP/IP destination to define a printer that receives IPDS jobs using the TCP/IP protocol.
Before adding a PSF TCP/IP printer, complete the following worksheet:
Wizard Prompt Description Value

destination object (8 character
limit).
This name is case-sensitive.

that controls this actual
destination.
TCP/IP address The dotted-decimal IP address
