Controller Options
Overview
• Always touch a grounded surface to discharge static electricity from your hands before you handle SD
cards, printed circuit boards, or memory boards.
This machine has I/F card slots for optional I/F connections and SD card slots applications.
After you install an option, check that the machine can recognize it (See Check All Connections at the end of
this section).
Callout Slots Options
[A] I/F slot This is used for one of the optional I/F connections (only one can be installed):
File Format Converter, IEEE 1284 Interface Board, IEEE 802.11a/g/n Interface Unit, USB
Device Server Option, Extended USB board
[B] SD card
slot 1
Slot 1 (upper) is used for optional applications (PostScript3 Unit, Camera Direct Print Card,
XPS Direct Print Option, Data Overwrite Security Unit, OCR Unit).
[C] SD card
slot 2
Slot 2 (lower) is used for service only (for example, updating the firmware).
[D] USB I/F These ports (right and left) [B] are used for the IC Card Reader.
SD Card Appli Move
Overview
The service program "SD Card Appli Move" (SP5-873) allows you to move application programs from one SD
card to another SD card.
If more than one application is required, the applications must be moved to one SD card with SP5-873-001.
Be very careful when you do the SD Card Appli Move procedure:
• The data necessary for authentication is transferred with the application program from an SD card to
another SD card. Authentication fails if you try to use the SD card after you move the application program
