Steering Circuit Problems
Problem Possible Causes
Steering inoperative or s luggish Steering components (e.g. tie rods, steering cylinder ends) are worn or
binding.
Steering cylinder is binding.
Oil level in hydraulic reservoir is low (other hydraulic systems are
affected as well).
Steering relief valve (R10) in steering control valve is stuck or
damaged.
Steering cylinder leaks internally.
Steering control valve is worn or damaged.
Gear pump section (P3) is worn or damaged (NOTE: A worn or
damaged gear pump s ection (P3) will also affect the traction (charge)
circuit).
