Using the hand-help vacuum pump, check that when
vacuum
is gradually applied to the diaphragm cham-
ber of the actuator, the throttle valve opens half-way.
Air
INSPECT VSV
lnspect VSV for open circuit
Using an ohmmeter, check that there
is continuity be-
tween the terminals.
Resistance (Cold)
:
37 - 44 !2
If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.

Inspect VSV for ground
Using an ohmmeter, check that there
is no continuity be
tween each terminal and the body.
If there
is continuity, replace the VSV.
lnspect VSV operation
(a)
Check that air flows from pipes E to G.
(b) Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
(c) Check that air flows from port E to the filter
If operation
is not as specified, replace the VSV.
