CYLINDER HEAD & CAMSHAFT 3
CAM CHAIN
Removal
1.
Remove the camshafts as detailed earlier in this
section.
2.
Release the screws securing the crankshaft
position sensor to the crankcase. Slide the sensor
grommet out from the crankcase and remove the
sensor.
3. Remove the bolt from the centre of the cam chain
housing, in the cylinder head.

Remove the crankshaft rotor.

5.
The timing chain is removed from inside the head or
through the crankcase, after first detaching the
chain from the crankshaft gear.
Installation
1.
Refit the cam chain and locate the lower end around
the crankshaft gear.
2.
Fit the crankshaft position sensor.
3.
Refit the crankshaft rotor.
4.
Adjust the crankshaft position sensor to give an air
gap of 1.00 mm + 0.20 mm between the crankshaft
rotor and the sensor.

5.
Apply Triumph silicone grease to the grommet on
the crankshaft position sensor and refit the
grommet to the crankcase.
6.
Refit the camshafts etc. as described earlier in this
section.
7.
Refit the bolt to the centre of the cam chain housing
in the cylinder head, tightening to
10 Nm.
