CYLINDER HEAD & CAMSHAFT 3
1. Coolant Drain Point

Disconnect the top and bypass hoses at the radiator
end.

Disconnect the hose from the cylinder head side
cover to the thermostat housing at the cylinder head
end.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the water
temperature sensor in the thermostat housing.
15.
Remove the thermostat housing leaving the hoses
attached to the housing.
16.
Drain the engine oil as described in the lubrication
section.
17. Disconnect the clutch cable as detailed in the clutch
section.
18. Remove the clutch cover to give access to the
crankshaft rotor.

Centre Bolt
19. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise (the normal
direction of rotation), using the nut fitted to the end
of the crankshaft. Stop rotation when number 1
cylinder is at top dead centre (TDC), that is when the
'Ti' mark on the crankshaft rotor aligns with the
crankshaft position sensor.

NOTE:
In addition to the crankshaft alignment
described above, at TDC the alignment marks
on the camshaft sprockets will point inwards at
a point level with the joint face.
