2. Install the new taper roller bearing into
the forward gear using a press.
Assembling the drive shaft housing
1. Install the needle bearing into the drive
shaft housing to the specified depth.
NOTE:
When using the driver rod, do not strike the
special tool in a manner that will force the
stopper
a
out of place.
2. Apply grease to the new oil seals, and
then install them into the drive shaft
housing to the specified depth.
NOTE:
Install an oil seal halfway into the drive shaft
housing, then the other oil seal.
Installing the drive shaft
1. Install the forward gear to the lower case.
2. Install the drive shaft housing

3. Install the drive shaft assembly, pinion,
and pinion nut, and then tighten the nut
to the specified torque.
