6. Install the spark plug, tighten it finger

a spark plug wrench

Checking the thermostat
1. Remove the flywheel magnet cover.
2. Disconnect the cooling water hose

and then remove the thermostat cover

and thermostat

3. Suspend the thermostat in a container of
water.
4. Place a thermometer in the water and
slowly heat the water.
5. Check the thermostat valve opening at
the specified water temperatures.
Replace if out of specification.
6. Install the thermostat, new gasket, ther-
mostat cover, and then connect the cool-
ing water hose.
7. Install the flywheel magnet cover.
Checking the cooling water passage
1. Check the cooling water inlet cover

and cooling water inlet
2
for clogs.
Clean if necessary.
