Conference Calls
Your Cisco Unified IP Phone allows you to talk simultaneously with multiple parties in a conference call.
Conference Features
You can create a conference in various ways, depending on your needs and the features that are available on
your phone:
•
Conference: Allows you to create a standard (ad hoc) conference by calling each participant. Use the
Confrn softkey. Conference is available on most phones.
•
Join: Allows you to create a standard (ad hoc) conference by combining existing calls. Use the Join
softkey.
•
cBarge: Allows you to create a standard (ad hoc) conference by adding yourself to a call on a shared
line. Use the cBarge softkey. cBarge is available only on phones that use shared lines.
•
Meet Me: Allows you to create or join a conference by calling a conference number. Use the MeetMe
softkey.
Ad Hoc Conference
An Ad Hoc conference allows you to call each participant into a conference call. Most phones have the ability
to set up a conference call.
For more information, see Conference Participants List, on page 53.
Tips
•
Calls must be on the same line before you can add them to a conference. If calls are on different lines,
transfer them to a single line before using Confrn or Join.
•
Depending on how your phone is configured, if you leave a conference after initiating it, the conference
might end. To all the conference to continue, transfer the conference before hanging up.
Create Conference
Your system administrator determines whether noninitiators of a conference can add or remove participants.
