Preparations for Inspection and Maintenance
Exceptinspecialcases,parkthemachinebyfollowingthe
procedure before servicing the machine.
1. Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2. Lowerthebucketandthebladetotheground.
3. Turntheauto-idleswitchOFF.
4. Turn engine control dial to the slow idle position and run
the engine for 5 minutes to cool the engine.
5. TurnthekeyswitchOFFtostoptheengine.Removethe
key.
6. Pullpilotcontrolshut-offlever(1)totheLOCKposition.
7. Afterputtingatagfor"UnderServing"ontheeasy-to-
seecabdoororcontrollever,beginthework.

WARNING: Never attempt to maintain the machine
when the engine is running in order to prevent the
accident. If maintenance work while engine running is
unavoidable, strictly comply with the following items.
One person should take the operator’s seat
to be ready to stop the engine any time while
communicating with other workers.
When working around moving parts is unavoidable,
pay special attention to ensure that hands, feet, and
clothing do not become entangled.
If parts or tools are dropped or inserted into the fan
or the belt, they may fly off or be cut off. Do not drop
or insert parts and tools into the moving parts.
Move pilot control shut-off lever (1) to LOCK position
so that the front attachment will not move.
Never touch the control levers and pedals.
If operating the control levers or pedals is
unavoidable, signal co-workers to evacuate to safer
place.
