Precautions for Lightning
Lightningmaystrikethemachine.
If lightning comes close, immediately stop the operation,
andtakethefollowingaction.
Whenyouarearoundthemachineoroperatingcab-
less machine, evacuate to a safe place far away from the
machine.
Whenyouareinthecab,stayinthecabuntillightning
has passed and safety is secured. Close the cab doors and
windows.Lowerthebuckettotheground,andstopthe
engine.Putyourhandsonyourlaptoavoidcontactwith
any metal surfaces. Never go out of the cab.
Iflightningstrikesthemachineornearthemachine,
checkallofthemachinesafetydevicesforanyfailureafter
lightning has passed and safety is secured. If any trouble is
found, operate the machine only after repairing it.
Object Handling
If a lifted load should fall, any person nearby may be
struckbythefallingloadormaybecrushedunderneathit,
resulting in serious injury or death.
Whenusingthemachineforcraningoperations,besure
to comply with all local regulations.
Donotusedamagedchainsorfrayedcables,sables,
slings, or ropes.
Beforecraning,positiontheupperstructurewiththe
travel motors at the rear.
Whenusingthemachineforcraningoperations,always
parkthemachineonasolidandlevelground.
Move the load slowly and carefully. Never move it
suddenly.
Keep all persons well away from the load.
Never move a load over a person’s head.
Donotallowanyonetoapproachtheloaduntilitissafely
andsecurelysituatedonsupportingblocksoronthe
ground.
Neverattachaslingorchaintothebucketteeth.They
may come off, causing the load to fall.
