Configuring WAN interfaces
This chapter describes how to configure the following interfaces on the Web interface:
• Ethernet interfaces.
• SA interfaces.
• ADSL/G.SHDSL interfaces.
• CE1/PRI interfaces.
• CT1/PRI interfaces.
Configuring an Ethernet interface
An Ethernet interface or subinterface supports the following connection modes:
• Auto—The interface acts as a DHCP client to get an IP address through DHCP.
• Manual—The IP address and subnet mask are configured manually for the interface.
• PPPoE—The interface acts as a PPPoE client. PPPoE provides access to the Internet for hosts
in an Ethernet through remote access devices. It also implements access control and
accounting on a per-host basis. As it is cost-effective, PPPoE gains popularity in various
applications, such as residential networks.
To configure an Ethernet interface:
1. Select Interface Setup > WAN Interface Setup from the navigation tree.

3. Configure the Ethernet interface, as described in Table 24, Table 25, and Table 26.
