2-1-4 Replacing the Timing Belts Z
After the timing belt Z has been replaced, it is absolutely necessary to reacquire the MS parameters
related to the Z-axis height and laser. (For the items to be acquired, see section 2-2, Re-adjustment
after Replacing the Head.)
The timing belt Z replacement method is the same as the Z motor replacement method.
See section 2-1-2 [Replacing the Z-Motor].
2-1-5 Replacing the Timing Belt θ
After the timing belt θ has been replaced, it is absolutely necessary to reacquire the MS parameters
related to the axis home. (For the items to be acquired, see section 2-2, Re-adjustment after
Replacing the Head.)
1) Remove the θ motor. See section 2-1-3 [Replacing the θ-Motor].
2) Remove the Z motor if necessary. See section 2-1-2 [Replacing the Z-Motor].
3) Remove the rotary joint and half union of the spline shaft tip (upper part).
4) Remove the bearing base L.
5) Loosen the setscrew (upper side: 2) of the spline shaft and remove the shaft from the coupling.
6) Pull out the spline shaft and spline pulley in the downward direction.
7) Replace the timing belt T.
8) Reassemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
9) After assembly, please get MS parameters.
∗ When securing the spline shaft, align the flat part of the shaft with the setscrew. Push in the
rotary joint and the O ring in the coupling to a degree that it collapses lightly, please install. If
pushing in is weak, it may cause air leakage.
∗ When the bearing base L is secured, make sure that the shaft is rotated smoothly.
∗ Confirm that the spline pulley has no gap.
∗ Adjust the belt tension following section 2-1-3 [Replacing the θ-Motor <Belt tension
adjustment procedure>].
