Loading the scanner
Loading the scanner consists of the following steps:
Placing slides in the racks
Unlocking and opening of the store door
Placing racks in the store
Closing the store door
These steps are described in subsequent sections.
Data security
Incorrectly labeled or incorrectly positioned slides can lead to skipped slides or unidentified
slides in the IMS. Strictly follow the instructions for labeling and positioning the slides.
Placing slides in racks
NOTICE
Slides must be dry, not sticky, nor contain any frozen section specimens when they are placed
in a rack.
Use only slides prepared according to the provided slide preparation instructions.
NOTICE
When adding, replacing or removing slides to or from a rack, watch for sharp edges of slides.
To prevent cuts or other bodily injury, do not contact sharp edges.

Make sure that the rack is undamaged and clean (free of mounting media and/or wax
particles).
Hold the slide by the label end side and place it with the label and cover slip facing up in the
rack. When placing the slide in the rack, make sure the label end of the slide is outside the
rack.
