Maintenance
Introduction
The scanner not only requires proper use, but also planned maintenance. Such planned
maintenance is essential to keep the equipment operating safely and reliably.
The correct setting of the electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies affects the function,
image quality and electrical safety.
Philips recommends that you:
regularly clean the scanner according to the instructions, see chapter “Cleaning” on page
49,
have the scanner serviced by Philips at least once a year.
If the scanner is used for more than 540,000 slide scans within a year, you must have it
maintained more frequently. By entering into a service agreement with Philips you preserve the
value and safety of your scanner.
All the necessary maintenance, including the safety tests for the purpose of avoiding danger
and the necessary settings for optimum image quality are performed at regular intervals. Philips
agrees on these intervals with you, taking the legal requirements into account.
