Starter rope installation
1. Install:
● Starter rope
Recoil starter checking
1. Check:
● Recoil starter operation
Rough operation → Repair.
NOTE:
When checking the recoil starter operation,
push the start-in-gear-protection-device
lock cam and then pull the recoil starter
handle (at the same time).
Installing steps:
● Tie a knot on the end of the starter
rope.
● Wind the starter pulley 1 counter-
clockwise until it stops.
● Turn the starter pulley clockwise until
the rope hole a and recoil starter
roller b align. Hold the starter pulley
at this position.
● Insert the starter rope through the
rope hole and feed it past the recoil
starter roller as shown.
NOTE:
If the starter pulley is turned less than 90˚
(from where if stopped to where the rope
hole and roller align), turn it one-full turn
clockwise until the hole and roller align
again.
