STEERING FRICTION (MH, EH-option)
SERVICE POINTS
Steering friction installation
1. Install:
Steering lock shaft
NOTE:
Turn in the steering lock shaft until it is fully
tightened, then turn it out one full turn.
2. Install:
Friction lever
1
Locknut

NOTE:
Install the friction lever with the “TOP”
mark
a
facing up.
Align the right-side cutaway
b
on the fric-
tion lever with the steering bracket stop-
per. Then, turn the steering lock shaft in or
out, approximately 1/4 of a turn, so it
aligns with the slit in the friction lever.
While maintaining the friction lever posi-
tion, tighten the friction lever position (the
right-side cutaway aligned with the stop-
per), tighten the locknut to the specified
torque.
