Reforming the capacitors
The capacitors must be reformed if the drive has been stored for a year or more. See
page 31 for information on finding out the manufacturing date. For information on

Transferring the memory unit to a new drive
When a drive is replaced, the parameter settings can be retained by transferring the
memory unit from the defective drive to the new. However, non-volatile data stored
using the NVRAM... keywords is not stored on the memory unit by default. Before
removal, use the NVRAMSAVE keyword to store the data on the memory unit.
WARNING! Do not remove or insert a memory unit when the drive is powered.
