Configure the laptop
Configure the IP address on page 4-3.

Configure the IP address
The Field Engineer (FE) laptop must be configured to the same IP addressing scheme
as the ATS in order to connect to the ATS remotely within the hospital intranet (used
to gain access to ATS Webmin or the ATS desktop). To configure the laptop perform
the following steps.
Windows NT or Windows 98
1. From the Windows taskbar, select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel window, select the Network icon.
3. On the Protocol (or Configuration) tab, select the appropriate TCP/IP Ethernet
adapter for your network card.
4. Select Properties.
5. Record the current IP address and subnet mask so you can restore them later.
6. Select Specify an IP address.
7. Type IP address, subnet mask and default gateway values matching the Unity
Network IX network domain for the ATS. For example:
IP Address: 192.168.x.x
Netmask: 255.255.0.0
8. Select OK.
9. Select OK.
10. Select Ye s to restart the service laptop.
Windows 2000
1. From the Windows taskbar, select Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up
Connections.
2. Right-click Local Area Connection.
3. Select Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
5. Select Properties.
6. Record the current IP address and subnet mask so you can restore them later.
