Troubleshooting

Boot failure
Verify that all components are connected correctly and the unit is plugged into a
known good outlet.
Ensure that all cables are properly seated.
Shut down, turn off and unplug the ATS.
Follow all antistatic precautions. See Controlling electrostatic discharge damage
on page 8-11. Remove all access panels and ensure all internal components are
properly seated.
ATS connection failure
NOTE
Keyboard/Video/Mouse (KVM) may be required in certain cases to access the
ATS desktop.
Network connection
Connect to ATS through the network using Webmin. See Log onto the Webmin
service interface on page 4-7.
Mounting hardware Loose or missing screws or other hardware, especially fasteners used as connections to ground planes on
PCBs.
Receiver System mounted loosely or near vibration.
Power source Faulty wiring, especially AC outlet.
Circuit not dedicated to system.
Symptoms of power source problems include static discharge, resetting problems, and noise.
Area Look for the following problems:
Task Check Correct
Check for connection problems Verify that all components are connected
correctly and the unit is plugged into a known
good outlet.
Ensure that all cables are properly seated.
Has the power switch on the front of the ATS
been firmly pressed?
Are the power supply switches switches on?
Correctly/firmly ensure all components/
cables properly connected/seated.
Press power switches firmly.
Check for power supply
problems
Are power supply fans spinning?
Ensure power supply LEDs are lit.
Is UPS starting and working correctly?
Ensure both power supplies firmly seated and
secured in the ATS.
Firmly seat/secure power supplies.
Power supplies/UPS may be
malfunctioning.
Check for short circuit LEDs are blinking erratically, turning amber, or
staying off.
Short circuit may exist.
