5-8 ApexPro™ Telemetry 2001989-203C
Configuration
Configure the receivers
Use the Receiver Configuration screen to display, add and delete receiver allocation
configuration information for a given tower.
Check receiver configuration
NOTE
Before modifying the receiver allocation, check the receiver configuration. See
ApexPro receiver configuration (ApexPro channelized telemetry) on page 2-12.
The Webmin Receiver Configuration screen is used to maintain the receiver
configuration list on ApexPro towers. Refer to the detailed description of ApexPro
receiver configuration concepts. See ApexPro receiver configuration (ApexPro
channelized telemetry) on page 2-12.
The configuration list indicates how many receivers are reserved for specific units.
The list also indicates whether specific units can admit to unassigned receivers (this is
a yes-no switch-type item entered for each unit name in the list). Units can have both
reserved receivers and access to unassigned receivers.
If a unit’s use-unassigned-receivers flag is yes, admits to the unit can use all explicitly
assigned receivers, as well as any discharged, unassigned receivers. If a unit’s use-
unassigned-receivers flag is no, the unit can only use the number of receivers
allocated for it, and no more.
It is possible for a unit to have reserved receiver count of zero. A unit with a reserved
receiver count of zero would have no receivers explicitly assigned to it. In this case,
the unit’s use-unassigned-receivers flag must be yes or the unit would not be able to
admit to the tower. With this in mind, if no receivers need to be allocated to specific
units, all units entered in the list can have their reserved-receiver counts set to zero,
and their use-unassigned-receivers flag set to yes.
If the list of unit names and their count of reserved receivers is empty (i.e., no unit
names are entered), the ApexPro tower accepts admits from any unit. However, if
even one unit name is entered, then all unit names needing access to the tower must
be entered.
For example, a receiver rack containing 16 receivers is configured with 4. In some
instances, it is necessary to assign receivers to particular care units. For example, a
receiver system (rack) connected to a separate antenna system is installed, and only
one Unity Network MC network ties all the CIC Pro centers/ApexPro systems
together. The Receiver Configuration screen is used to associate specific care units to
specific racks.
