ISDN Switches
Depending on the type of ISDN lines you are using, your service
provider may assign zero, one, or two SPIDs per line.
ISDN Errors
The following table describes ISDN standard cause values that are
sent from the ISDN switch to the router to indicate ISDN call status.
Although the cause values are standardized, each ISDN service
provider phrases the cause differently. Therefore, the causes shown
in the table might not be the exact messages that appear on your
television monitor.

Code Cause Definition
1 Unassigned number
The switch received the sent ISDN number in the
correct format; however, no destination
equipment uses the number.

No route to specified
transit network
The ISDN exchange can not recognize the
intermediate network through which to route the
call.
3 No route to destination
The destination address is not serviced by the
intermediate network through which the call is
routed.
6 Channel unacceptable
The specified channel does not provide sufficient
service quality to accept the requested
connection.
