4.4.4 Reference gas monitoring
NOTICE
Damage to the microow sensor
The microow sensors can be damaged by aggressive sample gas components. As long as the
reference gas is owing, the sample gas is prevented from diusing to the microow sensors
and destroying them.
• Ensure that the microow sensors have no contact to the sample gas. To do this, monitor
the reference gas pressure using an internal (optional) or external pressure switch.
• Ensure that there is a continuous supply of reference gas during operation.
• Interrupt the sample gas supply if the reference gas pressure is too low, and ush the sample
gas path with inert gas.
Note
Sample gas pressure increase inuences the sample gas pressure switch
At the time of delivery of an OXYMAT 7 analyzer module, the internal pressure switch for
reference gas monitoring is preset to approx. 2000 hPa (3000 hPa abs.). Changes in the sample
gas pressure in the analyzer module by more than 150 hPa require a change in the pressure
switch switching point by the same amount. The monitoring functionality of the reference gas
pressure switch is modied as a result.
• For changes to the sample gas pressure, contact the Service.
• Have the pressure switching point of the reference gas pressure switch adjusted by a Siemens
technician or someone trained for this case.
