6.1 General safety instructions for installation
CAUTION
Lifting and carrying the device
Risk of injury from falling loads
Unsecured or inadequately secured parts can fall during transport or installation and cause
injuries.
• Use suitable tools such as hand pallet trucks or trolleys to transport the device. Secure the
device against slipping and tipping over during transport.
• Use suitable lifting tools or a second person to assist you when lifting and installing the
device. Observe the appropriate safety regulations.
• When lifting, make sure that you have a secure grip and are standing steady.
• Keep transport routes free of trip hazards, uneven surfaces and slippage risks.
• Wear safety footwear during transport and installation of the device.
WARNING
Parts in contact with sample gases unsuitable for sample gas
Danger of injury or poisoning, device damage
Hot, poisonous and corrosive sample gases can be released at the connections if the device
parts and accessories coming into contact with sample gas are unsuitable for the sample gas.
• Use only sample gas-contacting connecting parts (pipes, unions and sealing material) that
are suitable for the connection and for the sample gases. Refer to the information in the
section "Technical specications (Page161)".

Material compatibility
Siemens can provide you with support concerning selection of analyzer components wetted by
the process medium. However, the device operator is responsible for the selection of
components. Siemens accepts no liability for faults or failures resulting from incompatible
materials.
