REMOVING THE ROCKER ARMS AND
CAMSHAFT
1. Straighten the lock plate tabs “a”.
2. Remove:
• Lock plate “1”
• Camshaft retainer “2”
3. Remove:
• Rocker arm shafts
• Rocker arms

Remove the rocker arm shafts with the slide
hammer bolt “1” and weight “2”.
4. Remove:
• Camshaft “1”
IP
Screw a M10 bolt “2” into the threaded end of the
camshaft, and then pull out the camshaft.

CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT
1. Check:
• Camshaft lobes
Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches → Re-
place the camshaft.
2. Measure:
• Camshaft lobe dimensions “a” and “b”
Out of specification → Replace the camshaft.
