Media Print Overview
The installation of the USB Media Print Kit (optional) allows the machine to retrieve and
print document files (PDF, TIFF, XML Paper Specification (XPS), XDW (XBD), and
JPEG (JFIF)). This feature is called Media Print.
When a USB memory device is connected to the machine, the data stored in the USB
memory device can also be printed. You can also print scanned data stored with the
Store to USB service.
Important • Data stored in media may be lost or damaged for the following reasons. Make sure to back
up data in media before use.
• When ejecting the medium, switching the power off/on, disconnecting/connecting USB
cables by methods other than described in this guide.
• When switching the machine off/on or disconnecting/connecting the USB memory device.
• When receiving the effect of electrical noise or an electrical discharge
• When a failure occurs or repairing
• When receiving damage resulting from a natural calamity
• We assume no responsibility for any direct and indirect damages arising from or caused by
such data loss.
• For Media Print - Text, files cannot be displayed in thumbnail view and cannot be previewed
either.
Note • The Store to USB service is not available for some models. An optional component is
required. For more information, contact our Customer Support Center.
• Commercially available Memory Card Reader with single slot

can be used for Media Print
feature, but its safe performance is not guaranteed.
When a Memory Card Reader with multi-slot

is used, only one particular slot is available.
The slot available differs according to the models, and the slot of media/Memory Card that
you want to use is not always available. Safe performance of a Memory Card Reader with
multi-slot is not guaranteed, either.

Media/Memory Card that has one slot. Some allows only one type of media/Memory
Card, while others allows more than one types (ex. SD card, xD-Picture Card).

Media/Memory Card that has two or more slots.
• This feature may not be available depending on the setting in the CentreWare Internet
Services. For more information, refer to "6 CentreWare Internet Services Settings" >
"Configuring Machine Settings Using CentreWare Internet Services" in the Administrator
Guide.
The Media Print feature includes the Media Print - Text mode that prints data stored in
text format. It also includes Index Printing that prints a list of files retrieved in the mode.

Extension: tif, Grayscale 4 bit/8 bit uncompressed, 8 bit/24 bit JPEG compressed,
MH/MMR compressed
