The Touch Screen or the [Power] Button Light or Both Switch Off
Check the following points
● Has the scanner been left out of operation for a long time after being powered on? (page 162)
If the problem persists, check the items in Before You Contact the Scanner Service Provider (page 213)
first, then contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Or, make an inquiry by
referring to the contact information at the Contact for Inquiries section in Safety Precautions bundled with
this product.
● Has the scanner been left out of operation for a long time after being powered on?
Solution
The scanner has entered power saving mode or has been automatically turned off.
● If the scanner has entered power saving mode
The touch screen turns off and the [Power] button flashes in green.
Resume from power saving mode by one of the following methods:
- Load a document in the ADF paper chute (feeder).
- Press the touch screen.
- Scans a document with the image scanning application.

● If the scanner has been automatically turned off
The touch screen and the [Power] button light are off.
Turn on the scanner.
