Preparing for HCP S Series Node
refurbishment
To to refurbish an HCP S Series Node, you need certain software installed on
your Windows
®
laptop computer:
•
Virtual COMport (VCP) serial port driver — Used for
communication between the laptop computer and an S10 Node server
module over a serial connection.
•
VCP serial port drive uninstaller — Used to uninstall the VCPserial
port driver. This uninstaller also deletes the COMports associated with
the VCP driver.
•
PuTTY — Used for access to the server modules either over a serial
connection or with SSH over an Ethernet connection.
•
InfraRecorder — Used to generate an ISOimage from the HCP S
Series operating system files.
•
Rawrite32 — Used to create a bootable USBflash drive that contains
the HCP S Series operating system installation ISO.
This chapter contains instructions for installing the above items on your
laptop computer, for using PuTTY, and for using InfraRecorder and
Rawrite32 to put the HCP S Series operating system installation ISO on a
USB flash drive.
