Server module and server module component requirements
If the S30 Node was returned racked, you need a server module carton for
each server module, either cartons that were returned with the S30 Node or
cartons that you supply. Each carton should contain foam packing pieces,
the box for the server module mounting rails, and the server module
accessory box.
Regardless of whether the S30 Node was returned racked or unracked, for
each server module, you need the blank plates that go in the riser card, in
the server module. These plates should be in the server module accessory
box.
Regardless of whether the S30 Node was returned racked or unracked, you
need the packaging for the PCIcards in the server modules. For each server
module, these cards are two SASPCIcards, one four-port Ethernet
PCIcard, and, if applicable, one two-port Ethernet SFP+ PCI card.
Additionally, if the server modules contain the two-port Ethernet SFP+
PCIcards, you need the long face plate for each card. These face plates
should be with the SFP+ PCIcard packaging.
You also need the packaging for the two SSDs, 16 memory cards, two CPUs,
and two heatsinks in each server module.
PDU requirements
If the S30 Node was returned racked and the rack contains PDUs, you need
a box for each PDU, either boxes that were returned with the S30 Node or
boxes that you supply.
Step 1 (conditional): Unpack the enclosures
If the S30 Node was returned completely or partially unracked, you need
unpack the packed enclosures from the cartons they were shipped in.
For cabling purposes, the rear of each enclosure, whether racked or
unracked, needs to be within a specific distance of the rear of other
enclosures or the server modules. If the first four enclosures and ninth
through twelfth enclosures are returned racked, they are already in the
correct positions.
