Put the screws, screw plates, and shelf locking brackets into their original
packaging from the box for the mounting rail kit or into bags that you
supply.
Step 18h (conditional): Attach the extenders to the outer
enclosure rails
If the enclosure was returned unracked, the rail extenders and cable
management arm extenders may not be attached to the outer enclosure
rails. If the extenders are not attached, you need to attach them.
Attaching the rail extenders
Each rail extender attaches to the rear of the sliding panel in an outer
enclosure rail. To attach a rail extender to a rail, you need the four medium
silver screws that come with the extender.
The left outer rail has the letter L stamped on its front lip. The right outer
rail has the letter R stamped on its front lip. Similarly, the left rail extender
is stamped with the letter L. The right rail extender is stamped with the
letter R. The left extender attaches to the left rail. The right extender
attaches to the right rail.
To attach a rail extender to an outer enclosure rail:
1. With the lip of the rail extender facing the same way as the rear lip of
the sliding panel in the outer rail, align the four screw holes in the lip of
the rail extender with the four screw holes in the rear lip of the sliding
panel.
