• When LI50 is set to easy direction (1), the function will automatically activate each
time a UPS run is commanded.
• Regardless of the commanded direction, the drive will determine and choose the easy
direction (signaling both directions is not required). The easy direction function is only
available in binary, digital, absolute analog, and CAN speed control modes.
• Additionally, by setting LC01 Control Mode to open loop vector (1) and LI50 to easy
direction (1), the open loop easy direction function can be used on open loop induction
applications. The drive runs the motor briefly in both directions while sampling the
torque current to determine the easy direction. The LT30 and LT31 OLED timer
parameters are used to adjust the delay and duration of sampling.
Refer to section Timer Parameters (LT), pg. 174 for further details.
Table 15. LI50 UPS mode settings
UPS input and both direction inputs must be active to determine the
Easy Direction.
The UPS input and only one direction input must be active to
determine the Easy Direction. If using CAN speed control or Open
Loop Easy Direction, this setting is required.
LI60 Special Speed Functions
This parameter is used to activate special functions regarding the selection of speeds in
either binary or digital speed control mode.
The functions in LI60 are a bitwise selection. When all bits are off, the behavior is
standard as described in the parameters LI03 and US04.

LI60 Bit 0: Two Speed Inspection
The controller triggers inspection but then immediately changes to correction speed. The
inspection speed profile is activated; however, the system is running at correction speed.
The controller can, after some time, select inspection speed again allowing a higher
speed up to 150ft/min.
When the controller de-selects inspection speed, the inspection profile is used to
decelerate the motor. It is allowed to re-select correction speed during the deceleration
and the drive will command the motor to run at correction speed.
