138 Matrix SETU ATA211 V1 System Manual
of provisional response or final response or when the user goes on-hook. On expiry of the timer, call is
disconnected and user gets error tone. The range of SIP INVITE Timer is 010 to 180 seconds. By default,
it is 30 seconds.
• SIP Provisional Timer: It is the time for which ATA211 waits for final response after receiving provisional
response from the called party. This timer starts on receipt of provisional response from the called party
and stops on receipt of final response from the called party or when the user goes on-hook. On expiry of
timer, call is disconnected and user gets error tone. The range of SIP Provisional Timer is 010 to 180
seconds. By default, it is 60 seconds.
• General Request Timer: It is the time for which the ATA211 waits for the response of a transaction
request. This timer starts on initiating a transaction. This timer stops on receipt of a response for the
request. On expiry of timer, the ATA211 clears the transaction. The range of General Request Timer is 10
to 60 seconds. By default, it is 20 seconds.
UDP NAT Keep Alive
When the ATA is connected behind the NAT router and SIP messages are transported over UDP then UDP NAT
Keep Alive messages are to be sent to refresh the UDP binding in the NAT router. UDP NAT Keep Alive settings
can be done as follows:
• Enable UDP NAT Keep Alive?: Select 'Yes' if you want the ATA to send keep alive messages periodically
to refresh the binding in NAT router. By default, it is No.
• Interval (Seconds): Select the time period after which the ATA should send keep alive messages. This
time period should be less than the UDP binding timer of the router. The valid range is 001 to 999 seconds.
By default, it is 120 seconds.
• Message Type: Select message type if UDP NAT Keep Alive is enabled. Select either REGISTER or
NOTIFY. By default, it is NOTIFY.
TCP NAT Keep Alive
When the ATA is connected behind the NAT router and SIP messages are transported over TCP then TCP NAT
Keep Alive messages are to be sent to refresh the TCP binding in the NAT router. The ATA sends CR-LF (Carriage
Return - Line Feed) message as TCP NAT Keep Alive message to refresh the TCP binding. TCP NAT Keep Alive
settings can be done as follows:
• Enable TCP NAT Keep Alive?: Select 'Yes' if you want the ATA to send Keep Alive messages periodically
to refresh the binding in the NAT router. By default, it is No.
• Interval (Seconds): Select Time Period after which the ATA should send Keep Alive messages. This time
period should be less than the binding timer of the router. The valid range is 0001-9999 seconds. By
default, it is 120 seconds.
STUN
• Enable: Enable STUN (Simple Traversal of UDP through NAT) if ATA211 is located behind the NAT router.
STUN server facilitates traversing through most NATs, except symmetric NATs. If your router has
Symmetric NAT, do not use STUN.
