Transport Configuration
The ATA always accepts the SIP messages transported over UDP. However, you can restrict the ATA to accept SIP
messages over TCP connection. Moreover, you can program the default transport to be used for outgoing SIP
messages.
Default Transport For Outgoing Messages:
The ATA supports following three options for outgoing SIP messages.
• TCP: If it is selected, TCP will be used as default transport protocol for outgoing messages provided 'SIP
over TCP' flag in web page 'WAN Port' is enabled. Else the messages will not be sent or call will be
dropped. Refer chapter 'WAN Port' to enable SIP over TCP.
• UDP: If it is selected, UDP will be used as default transport protocol for outgoing messages.
• TCP (with fallback to UDP): If it is selected, TCP will be used as default transport protocol for outgoing
messages provided 'SIP over TCP' flag in web page 'WAN Port' is enabled. Else the messages will not be
sent or call will be dropped. Refer chapter 'WAN Port' to enable SIP over TCP. However, if TCP
connection to remote peer fails due to any reason, the ATA will send message over UDP.
Default = UDP.
Source Port IP Address
You can select either of the options mentioned below for each SIP Account:
• Use WAN port IP Address
• Use IP Address fetched using STUN
• Use Router's Public IP Address
Default = Use WAN Port IP Address.
