Managing Calls
ATA211 gives you the facility of managing the calls by providing various Supplementary call services such as:
• Call Hold
• Call Transfer- Blind
• Call Transfer- Attended
• Call Toggle
• 3-Party Conference
• Making Second Call
• Call Waiting
• Making new call
• Disconnect the call
Call Hold
Call Hold feature allows you to hold the remote party. Maximum two calls can be put on Hold. Ensure that feature is
enabled in Class of Service. Refer “Class of Service” in chapter FXS Port.
How it works?
You can hold the call only from FXS Port viz. only the calls made/received from/on FXS port can be held. You can
hold all type of calls made/received from/on FXS port viz. calls made to PSTN/SIP.
Call Hold feature will also be used with other features like Making Second Call, Call Waiting, Call Transfer- Blind,
Call Transfer-Attended, Call Toggle and 3-Party Conference.
Making Second Call
This feature helps you to make a second call by keeping the first call on 'Hold'. Ensure that 'Call Hold' feature is
enabled in Class of Service. Refer “Class of Service” in chapter FXS Port.
How it works?
If you have made the first call on IP, it is possible to make following type of second call:
• PSTN Call
•IP Call
If you have made the first call on PSTN, it is possible to make only following type of second call:
•IP Call
A is in speech with B
Hold a call
A dials Flash A gets feature tone. B goes on hold.
Retrieve Held Call
A dials Flash again within feature tone timer (7 seconds)
OR, A can dial 'Flash' within error state.
A in speech with B
A goes on-hook A gets Ring
A goes off-hook A in speech with B
A is in speech with B
A dials Flash B goes on hold. A gets feature tone.
A dials number of C A in speech with C
